Folds draw two distant points on a surface nearer to each other, creating shortcuts. This can be seen as a spatial manipulation that suggests new relations, leaving empty spaces of signification. On the fluid structure of a curtain, folds form and become undone in continuous motion. Archives are similar, moments defined by the moving relations of the elements they contain. When new materials are included, categories are re-specified and new relations are drawn between them. This collection presents itself as an open archive, where the process of insertion and extraction is constantly happening, each element is a prop of each other, an allusion that is conceived to perpetually suggest different definitions of the others. Drawing together different groups of works, Installing Allusions uses elements of exhibition making as an approach to analyze painting and the production of painted objects. In a space both cut and created by the large aluminium curtain - both a work and a wall where to exhibit others - are put in dialogue objects and test the definition of painted objects through a process of rematerialization: paintings that mimic the weight and aspect of books, one that can be unfolded into a table to be looked at horizontally to adapt to the perspective of the objects that are painted upon its canvas, paintings that reproduce the descriptions of landscapes. Together, each hints to an element of the other, virtually constructing the relations that hold together the temporary space in which they are shown.
